If your post/box gets assaulted by a snow plow (1), it will gracefully turn ninety degrees to the left(2); rather than self-destruct.

If it is going to snow (1), just push it back when you pick up toady’s mail (2). When the snow plow has finished and gone home to sleep, just pull the arm out to your desired setting (3).
